Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask : Yummy Yummy Yummy

Lush is the new buzz in the beauty world. The cosmetic brand specializes in natural and handmade skincare and bath products such as hand soaps and bath bombs. Many of its products are made with fresh ingredients so they often have an extremely short expiration date and have to be refrigerated in between uses. Certain products such as the fresh masks are also only available in stores. Cupcake ($7.95) is a fresh facial mask that treats your skin to a chocolate feast.

More about the product : Chocolate heaven for oily and teenage skin. Its action removes excess oil and calms breakouts. Rhassoul mud cleans and soothes, linseed, cocoa butter and cocoa powder soften the skin. Balancing peppermint, spearmint and sandalwood oils complete this effective and delicious experience. Apply to clean skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave for five to ten minutes, then rinse away.

The chocolate minty mask feels like chocolate batter on my face and has the consistency of thick frosting. The scent is heavenly and is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Due to its thick consistency and the fact that it drys up quickly, rinsing off can become quite a messy job. I suggest using a wet towel or sponge to slowly wipe the mask off first instead of directly wash your face with water. This will get most of the product off first and can prevent them from clogging the sink.

This is definitely a winner out of all fresh masks that the brand makes and helps dry up my pimples. It is also excellent at oil control. Due to its short shelve life, there is no need to save the product. Use a thick layer every time or you risk wasting left over product. And always remember to refrigerate it in between uses.

Thanks for the review! I'm really tempted to try the lush masks now! I keep hearing great things about them, but I always get put off when I see them in the store, as it doesn't look all that pretty in the tub =_= I think I'm too shallow. Hahaha...

But really, looks like I might need to get that! I am still breaking out. Ahhh.

@ Dreams That Glitter: I'm glad you also like Cupcake.

@Jian: Some of the masks do look not that pretty in the post, but don't worry, they are amazing once you put it on your face.

@NV Beauty: Lush carry several masks. I'm sure there is one that is good for dry skin. Talk to their SA.

@e.motion in motion: sorry to hear you don't have a Lush near you. Fresh masks can't be bought from online due to its fresh factor.

Somehow I had never heard of these products until yesterday because there was a grand opening of a store in my mall. I wrote about it (http://www.taaz.com/trends/trends.html) to see if anyone had tried the products yet, so good to see a review!
