Urban Decay Eyelash Primer Potion : A Not Bad Extra But Not A Must

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($18) is well known for being the cult favorite for both makeup artists and beauty amateurs. The brand also has a whole line of primer potions that targets other areas other than the eyes. Recently, Sephora launched an exclusive Urban Decay set, the Box of Potion ($65), that includes some of its most famous and popular products such as the Complexion Primer Potion - Brightening ($30), Complexion Primer Potion - Pore Perfecting ($30), Eyelash Primer Potion ($20), and Lip Primer Potion ($20). I was extremely eager to try out the set because I am a big fan of the original eyeshadow primer potion.

More about the product : Wave this magic wand before your favorite mascara for lashes that appear thicker, longer, and stronger—right before your very eyes! Lashes are bolstered with the tiny fibers that band together and cling to every lash, creating extraordinarily eye-popping extensions. Results are maximized with the conditioning, fortifying, and thickening formula of Silk Protein, Panthenol, and Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein. Just apply Eyelash Primer Potion, let it dry, and apply your fave mascara—you won't believe your eyes!

I don't often wear eyelash primers for the simple fact that the ones I've tried either don't make any differences or for the most times, I am way to lazy to add another product to my already busy makeup routine. But since it is Urban Decay, I convinced myself that I will give it a chance to prove me wrong. I do adore Urban Decay's purple and patterned packaging. The product contains no noticeable fragrances and is easy to apply. It also does not weight down my lashes, which is another big plus for it. Unfortunately, the result does not meet my expectations. It doesn't do much in terms of lengthening or thickening my lashes. It also made my mascaras clump a bit. I would say that if you are looking for something that can help you achieve that long and amazing lashes, your best choice is probably a good mascara, which can doubles as a primer too. This will save you money and time

Thanks for notifying us! I agree that primers aren't necessary. But the packaging of these are really cute ^^

Gotta go try the lip primer and UDPP, yes and UDPP. I'm a bit slow with this stuff...LOL

Hi! Awesome review - will definitely be skipping this, I'm not too keen on primers anyway (seems like a lot of steps = a lot of time haha), except for face and eyes. Btw, thanks for replying back to me on the Cleansing Oils post, I just saw it :) I guess/think the Shiseido one is good bc it instantly turns milky when it touches water. Sometimes that annoys me bc I don't know if the oil did its job yet lol!

I've never tried any mascara primer other than the one from the double sided Maybelline XXL mascara. And it does make a difference with the lengthening. I guess UDPP sets our standards high for Urban Decay, huh? lol.

I'm skipping this deal even though it IS tempting. I'm gonna save for their 24/7 super stash instead. Thanks for the review!

Great review! I'm so lazy...I never want to use a lash primer. I think the cheapie ones work fine, but, eh, I wouldn't pay too much for it! $65 is kind of a lot for that!

@23 Crystals: I welcome everyone to come to my blog, BUT I don't appreciate when people come here and comment to sell products. Please DO NOT do this anymore, because I hate to start comment moderation for my blog. Thanks

hopefully my previous comment back doesn't sound too mean...I promise Im a nice girl...LOL

@Babybubblz: thanks. I love UDPP too. I use them whenever I put eye makeup on. I will be doing a review on the lip primer, but I can tell you now that I do love it...

@SK: thanks for coming to my blog. I will definitely go check out your blog. And definitely try UDPP. It's the best...LOL

@Becks: you are welcome :) Usually, I use the oil on my dry face for about 30sec, making sure that all my makeup seems "melting" (dissolved..thats what I was trying to say LOL), then I just slowly add water. Don't worry, it just takes a little bit time to get use to it.

@Fifi: 24/7 super stash sounds really good, but I think for now, I'll try to stay away from Urban Decay stuff for a while because for the past several stuff I tried from them, they are all a bit disappointing.

@Lisa: I agree with you. I think I'll just stick to my mascaras...LOL

Fabulous review, darling. I've come to realize that most primers are the same. *sigh*

Thanks for the honest review. I do love UDPP but will not be going for the box of potions. Looks like UD was trying to sell the not-so-hot products by packaging them with UDPP and the lip primer.

Thanks for entering my giveaway!

I just rely on lengthening mascaras as opposed to primers.

You won an award on my blog! :)

@B: I totally agree with you. Im not even interested in primers anymore because a lot of them kind of feel the same.

@Chommie: awww thanks girl. I wish my cat is hyper...LOL...she is so lazy. Sometimes I try to make her run in the house...but she just run like 2 steps and just lay down on the floor and look at me..looks like she's saying, "im tired already" -.-"

@Wendy: thanks girl for the reward. I will definitely do a post on that soon.

I was very interested in the box but after reading your review I`m not.

I love Primer potion, I think it`s fantastic and I assumed that other products would be good too. I was wrong.
